Fondation Iris is a private foundation under the aegis of  Fondation de France. It was created in December 2012. Its aim is to promote conservation of the environment and to safeguard the fragile beauty of the world.


The foundation supports actions to preserve or restore vulnerable sites, whether cultural or natural, as well as actions to respond concretely to the loss of biodiversity in all kinds of environments. It promotes events and works by artists and photographers, who contribute to the enhancement of the sites or the public awareness on these themes. The foundation also supports agroecology in France.


Finally the foundation organizes or supports scientific expeditions around the world.




March 2018 - Fondation Iris supports the ORIGINS exhibition which will take place in the heart of Paris on  the Luxembourg Garden fence, from March 17th to July 15th 2018. The ORIGINS exhibition is a 4.5 billion-year journey that spans the birth of Earth and its formation to the emergence and explosion of life in all its forms. The ORIGINS project pays tribute to Earth’s power, energy and extremely rich biodiversity, revealing the awesome beauty of wild nature.

February 2018 - The teaser of the 4th Sustainable Summits Conference 2018 supported by Fondation Iris is now on line. This worldwide event will be an amazing opportunity to talk about the futur of high mountains, good of Humanity that we all share. We are looking forward to meet you in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc from 12th to 14th June 2018.

January 2018 - The Fondation Iris team is working on the production of a book on the two  expeditions conducted in Indonesia, in the Lesser Sunda Islands  and West Papua between 2015 and 2017. This book will be published in the fall of 2018.

December 2017 - Magnus Lundgren just returned from Taiwan with fantastic underwater pictures captured during a mission conducted by Wild Wonders of China, an initiative supported by Fondation Iris for several years.
